How it works
Connect your Spotify account
Sign in with Spotify as the host. A Premium account is required, since only Premium accounts can control playback through the Spotify Web API.
Pick your active device via Spotify Connect
Open Spotify and make sure it's playing on the device you want (phone, computer, or a Spotify Connect speaker). Roomzic doesn't add its own device picker — Spotify Connect decides which device is active.
Guests suggest songs
Guests join with a free Roomzic account, search for tracks in the browser, and suggest them to the room — no app to install.
You decide what plays
The host approves or refuses each suggestion, or switches approval off so tracks go straight into the queue.
Tracks join your Spotify queue
Approved tracks are added directly to the Spotify queue of your active device, using the same "queue" the Spotify app itself uses.
Mode 1 — Classic Spotify playback
The default mode: guest suggestions are sent straight into your Spotify queue and play on your active Spotify Connect device.
Guests suggest a track
Search results come straight from the Spotify catalog.
You decide what plays
The host approves or refuses each suggestion, or switches approval off so tracks go straight into the queue.
Track added to the Spotify queue
Sent via the Spotify Web API queue endpoint, exactly like adding a track from the Spotify app itself.
Plays on your active device
Whichever device Spotify Connect currently has active continues playback.
Mode 2 — Import a Spotify playlist to a YouTube queue
Instead of streaming live through your Spotify account, convert an entire Spotify playlist into an internal Roomzic queue played through the embedded YouTube player — useful once Premium access or Spotify Connect isn't available.
Pick a Spotify playlist
Choose any playlist from your connected Spotify account.
Roomzic fetches every track
Title, artist, and album data is pulled for each song in the playlist.
Automatic YouTube matching
Each track is searched on YouTube and matched to its best available video, one by one, with live progress ("X of Y converted").
A YouTube queue is generated
Confirmed matches become Roomzic's internal queue for that room.
Playback via the embedded YouTube player
The room switches to the YouTube provider: guests keep suggesting, playback runs in the browser of the designated host device.
Why use Spotify with Roomzic
