Turn Spotify Connect into a collaborative party queue

Roomzic plugs into the Spotify you already use: guests suggest and vote from their phone, you stay in control, and the music plays through Spotify Connect on your existing speaker or device.

How it works

1

Connect your Spotify account

Sign in with Spotify as the host. A Premium account is required, since only Premium accounts can control playback through the Spotify Web API.

2

Pick your active device via Spotify Connect

Open Spotify and make sure it's playing on the device you want (phone, computer, or a Spotify Connect speaker). Roomzic doesn't add its own device picker β€” Spotify Connect decides which device is active.

3

Guests suggest songs

Guests join with a free Roomzic account, search for tracks in the browser, and suggest them to the room β€” no app to install.

4

You approve, or your guests vote

Review each suggestion and approve or reject it. With Premium, guests can vote instead, and the most popular tracks rise automatically.

5

Tracks join your Spotify queue

Approved tracks are added directly to the Spotify queue of your active device, using the same "queue" the Spotify app itself uses.

Turn a Spotify playlist into a YouTube queue, automatically β†’

Mode 1 β€” Classic Spotify playback

The default mode: guest suggestions are sent straight into your Spotify queue and play on your active Spotify Connect device.

1

Guests suggest a track

Search results come straight from the Spotify catalog.

2

You approve or guests vote

Manual approval, or collaborative voting with Premium.

3

Track added to the Spotify queue

Sent via the Spotify Web API queue endpoint, exactly like adding a track from the Spotify app itself.

4

Plays on your active device

Whichever device Spotify Connect currently has active continues playback.

Mode 2 β€” Import a Spotify playlist to a YouTube queue

Instead of streaming live through your Spotify account, convert an entire Spotify playlist into an internal Roomzic queue played through the embedded YouTube player β€” useful once Premium access or Spotify Connect isn't available.

1

Pick a Spotify playlist

Choose any playlist from your connected Spotify account.

2

Roomzic fetches every track

Title, artist, and album data is pulled for each song in the playlist.

3

Automatic YouTube matching

Each track is searched on YouTube and matched to its best available video, one by one, with live progress ("X of Y converted").

4

A YouTube queue is generated

Confirmed matches become Roomzic's internal queue for that room.

5

Playback via the embedded YouTube player

The room switches to the YouTube provider: guests keep suggesting and voting, playback runs in the browser of the designated host device.

Why use Spotify with Roomzic

Your existing Spotify library, untouched

Nothing to rebuild: Roomzic reads and adds to your Spotify queue, it doesn't replace your playlists or your account.

Real Spotify Connect playback

The music keeps playing on whatever speaker, TV, or device you already use with Spotify Connect β€” Roomzic only manages the queue, not the audio output.

No app for your guests

Guests suggest songs from any phone browser with a free account. They never need a Spotify account of their own.

A bridge to YouTube when Spotify can't follow

When you want a Spotify playlist to keep playing after Premium runs out, or on a device without Spotify, Roomzic can convert it into a YouTube queue in a few clicks.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Spotify Premium to use Roomzic?
Yes, as the host: Spotify only allows playback control through its API for Premium accounts. Guests only need a free Roomzic account to suggest and vote β€” no Spotify subscription required on their side.
How does Roomzic choose which Spotify device plays the music?
It doesn't β€” Spotify Connect does. Roomzic adds approved tracks to the queue of whatever device you currently have active in Spotify. There is no separate device picker inside Roomzic.
Can I import a Spotify playlist into YouTube?
Yes. Roomzic can convert any playlist from your connected Spotify account into a ready-to-play YouTube queue β€” see our dedicated guide on importing a Spotify playlist to YouTube.
Do my guests need a Spotify account?
No. Guests only need a free Roomzic account to suggest songs and vote; only the host's account needs to be connected to Spotify.
How many guests can join a Spotify room?
Up to 20 participants on the free plan. Premium removes that limit.
Can guests vote on which song plays next?
Collaborative voting is a Premium feature. On the free plan, the host manually approves or rejects each suggestion.
